- 21. "If you become my disciples, and if you hear my words, these
stones will minister to you."
- 22. "For you have there, in Paradise, five trees* which
move not winter nor summer, whose leaves do not fall. He who knows them
will taste not of death!" (* the five senses)
- 23. The disciples said to Jesus: "Tell us what the Kingdom
of Heaven is like!' He said to them: "It is like a grain of mustard; smaller
than all other seeds, but when it falls on prepared ground, it sends forth a great
branch, and it becomes a shelter for the birds of heaven."
- 24. Mariam said to Jesus: "Whom do your disciples resemble?"
He said to her: "They resemble small children who are dwelling in a field which
is not theirs. When the Lords of the field come and say, "Give our field back to us."
They will strip naked before them to give it back to them, and give their field to
them."
- 25. "Therefore, I speak thus: If the Lord of the house realizes
the robber is coming, he will keep watch before he comes, and will not permit him to
to tunnel into his castle and take his goods. You, then, keep watch from the source of
the world. Bind to your loins this great power, so that the thieves do not find a way
to come up to you, because the help you look outward for, they will fall upon!"
- 26. "Let there be among you a man of understanding: when the fruit
ripened, he quickly came, his sickle in his hand, and reaped it. He, who has ears to
hear, let him listen!"
- 27.* Jesus saw some little ones who were taking milk: he said to his
disciples: "These little ones who are taking milk are like those who enter the
Kingdom." They said to him: "Then if we are little ones, will we enter the
Kingdom?" Jesus said to them: "When you make the two, one, and if you make
the inside like the outside, and the outside like the inside, and the upper like the
lower, and so you will make the male and woman one alone, so that the female becomes
male and the male becomes female, and when you make seeing** in the place of an eye,
and a hand in the place of a hand, and a foot in the place of a foot, and an image in
the place of an image, then you will enter the kingdom." (** Lit: eyes)
